About Us

Community Policing

Pinelands CPF was established as a partnership between the South African Police Service (SAPS) and the local community as a platform for community and civic partners involved in fighting crime in neighbourhoods to collaborate. Community policing brings the police and the community together to solve problems of crime.

Aims of the CPF

Collaboration between SAPS, Law Enforcement agencies, Security stakeholders and Community organisations.

Communication

improve communication and relations between the police and the community, encouraging them to work together as partners against crime.

Collaboration

work together with stakeholders.

Accountability

monitor the police, introducing ways to make the police service transparent and accountable.

Problem Solving

identify and solve problems to do with fears of crime and disorder.​

Safe Schools

The governing body of a school is responsible for ensuring that sound governance policies and guidelines promoting the establishment of safe schools are developed.

Spiritual

Spiritual Crime Prevention

The Spiritual Crime Prevention programme is an interfaith community-based approach empowering community leaders to assist SAPS.

Youth

Youth Desk

Youth Desks enable young people to participate actively in identifying the causes of youth violence and crime, and to collaborate in creating social crime prevention strategies.
